Since October 2016, all new LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) projects must comply with the requirements of the latest version, LEED v4, including the submission of an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) summarizing the main effects on the environment of the manufacturing process of the product, for example the manufacture of structural steel.
PMI Steel Products that participated in the CISC National Survey can use the generic EPD of the industry and is able to submit bids to the steel structure for LEED projects.
